[Human Design] Personal Observations of Gate 62: To be -impeccable- with your word
The Gate of Details, Preponderance of the Small
During my first Human Design reading, I was told about Gate 62 as being “precise” and “impeccable”. For the last two years, the word “impeccable” escaped me. I just couldn’t seem to grasp what the word meant even after reading and rereading the definition. Logically, I knew what it meant but I wondered how it applied in my everyday life. How does it show up or rather how should I support the way it shows up by how I show up?
“Gate of Detail is the energy of small detail. This is bringing into words what does not have a name. By naming something and assigning scope and details to an object or a concept etc., there is a basis for discussion. Gate 62 is the gate of practical, organizational answers and people with this energy have the capacity to organize things…This is the energy for creating the structure and application of the experiment. The 62 determines the statistical tests to be done, what equipment to use, and how to log the data.” - Ra Uru Hu
A couple of years ago, I finally got around to ordering a book that mentions this word, “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. If you’ve ever read “The Four Agreements” you know that the first agreement is “be impeccable with your word”. In the book, Don Miguel breaks down how the power of the word can free someone or enslave them as our minds are “fertile” for seeds of opinions and ideologies of others. Also, he goes over the root of the word “impeccable”. The word “impeccable” comes from the Latin word, “pecatus” which means “sin”. The prefix “im” refers to the word “without”. Together, impeccable means “without sin”. Before re-reading this part of the book recently, I went ahead and looked for synonyms. A few words that align with impeccable are “flawless”, “ideal”, “immaculate”, “excellent” and “delightful”. I still was unsure about how this refers to how I speak.
I saw how it could refer to my delivery of projects and I was just thinking, “how do I even go about that?” I’m the kind of person who will strive for perfection but in the past, my execution fell short because of not have the necessary tools or resources to really create something robust and well-rounded. In my reading, I remembered she told me not to be nit-picky about things but to be precise. Once she said the word “nit-picky” it reminded me of how in the reading she asked me how the energy shows up for me and my response was, “like my mother”. She asked me what I meant by that and I expressed that growing up, my mom was obsessed with perfect attendance and she was an A student in school, things I didn’t really fuss about for myself. My mom did have tendencies of being nit-picky about my appearance and certain things I did that didn’t fit into the box as acceptable.
Now that I’ve seen her chart, it makes more sense why I responded the way I did. My mom has her Moon defined in that Gate. Not only that but my Chiron is defined there with my South Node. The way she finds comfort and emotionally expresses herself (Moon) can be a source of pain (Chiron) and it’s something that can hold me back (South Node). I’m aware of the energy but it’s a lingering wound that holds me back at times. I can fuss about how things are received and be ready to trash them if it isn’t received well. I can start down a whole shame spiral and overall become discouraged. That energy also comes from having Gate 13 defined unconsciously. However, I can now see the way forward.
Chiron is not just about painful wounds for the sake of wallowing in self-pity— it’s about what you do with that pain, transmuting it into nectar, a nourishing balm to share with others and to soothe the Spirit. With this perspective and knowledge, I can share my wisdom from my past experiences (South Node) and help others heal their own wounding by sharing the tools I’ve acquired to help me move forward and grow (Chiron).
Now to bring all of this back to the definition Don Miguel shared.
In the book, he says,
“a sin is anything that you do which goes against yourself. Everything you feel or believe or say goes against yourself and is a sin. You go against yourself when you judge or blame yourself for anything. Being without sin is the opposite. Being impeccable is not going against yourself. When you are impeccable, you take responsibility for your actions, but you do not judge or blame yourself.”
When I look at this further, I see that my mom unconsciously does judge herself when things don’t come together as she expected and when others do not receive her efforts with praise. She had an undefined Throat with only this Gate defined as well. This creates pressure to speak before being invited (she’s a Projector and this is a projected Gate) and though she may be well intended, her message is lost on others. Her expectations from her Defined Root aren’t able to receive the channel necessary to have her message received properly and in a realistic way. Plus, if she’s in the incorrect environment as an Undefined G-Center person, she isn’t connected to the proper energy to express herself.
Thankfully, we’ve begun repairing our relationship and as a Defined Throat & G-Center being, I can provide that definition for her to share her Truth with me and I can also unpack my feelings and heal.
Being able to see this energy, something I’ve always sensed but had no words to explain, has been truly helpful for my personal journey. Being able to look at my mom's and other family members’ charts has been eye-opening. I have a deeper sense of compassion and can extend forgiveness with more ease. I don’t have the exact birth times for all members of my family, but I’ve been able to play around with the birth times to see what changes and just have a general overview of their energy— that’s healing enough.
If you’re interested in exploring your Human Design chart, you can schedule a session with me here. It’s a 90-minute session where we go over your chart together to reflect on your brilliance and help you connect with your inner wisdom. It’s about taking your power back in creating a truly fulfilling life. As a mother and wife, this system, this tool, helps me to better understand my family and guide them with their energetic blueprint to see them fully.
